Can I tell you the most embarrassing story that happened to me at Nordstroms?
FYI this is a real story and yes this actually happened to me
How I "Lost My Glow."
Several years ago, as a young expectant mother, I stood in front of the mirror, frowning at my stubborn sun spots and -melasma- that had spread across my face. It was a constant reminder of my struggle to feel beautiful during pregnancy. I no longer felt beautiful in my own skin.
Determined to find a quick fix, I grabbed my keys and headed to Nordstrom, driven by the hope that the right foundation could be the key to covering up my skin insecurities.
As I stepped up to the vibrant makeup counter, I felt a bit out of my element. However, I chose to embrace the moment, reminding myself that if anyone could guide me in this beauty journey, it would be the skilled touch of a Nordstrom makeup artist.
My hope to regain confidence in my skin quickly turned into a insecurity nightmare. I noticed the makeup artist was trying multiple foundations and seemed super confused. After several minutes that felt like hours, she finally turned to me and admitted she is unsure whether to match the foundation to my natural skin tone or to the melasma itself.
The makeup artist asked me a gentle but firm question, "I am sorry this is so hard. Does the melasma bother you?" This simple question pierced through my brave façade, leaving me feeling exposed and vulnerable. Fighting back tears, I walked away without a product and with an ego bruised by the encounter.
I had officially "LOST MY GLOW" and felt like I was never going to feel beautiful in my skin again.
Here are some pictures of the melasma I was battling.
My journey to "Get My Glow Back."
I honestly had lost hope that I could ever feel beautiful in my skin again. I was extremely skeptical that any skin routine could ever "Get My Glow Back." It broke my heart to think of all the women like me who had "Lost Their Glow" and felt like it would never come back.I found a new source of strength and was determined to find a way to "Get My Glow Back" so I could teach it to other women struggling with the same defeat I was. This was not an easy path and there were definitely some tears shed during the discovery process. It took me several years to find the right "routine" that actually made a true impact on my skin. After a lot of trial and error and money spent on pointless products that seemed to make it worse, I finally found a beauty regimen that promised not just coverage, but healing. With a hint of skepticism, I began the regimen, and to my astonishment, saw improvement after the first use. Within 30 days, the melasma had all but disappeared. For the first time in years, the mirror reflected the radiance I felt inside.I HAD OFFICIALLY GOTTEN MY GLOW BACK!!!Check out these before and after picturesToday, makeup has become a form of self-expression rather than a cover-up. On most days, I choose to go without foundation, embracing the natural glow and uniqueness of my skin. With this beauty regimen, I was able to transform my skin and my self-esteem, revealing a radiant version of myself I thought was lost forever.
